Let Me Hear You.

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift my soul.

In the morning we seem to be so rushed. We sleep as long as we can only to wake up last minute and not have enough time to get ready for work, then we barely leave in time to get where we are going. Only to get to the job and be in a rush to get things done and completed.

Do you find yourself in this position? Sometimes? Always?

Well, in Psalm 143:8, God is telling us how we can know the way for our soul to be lifted up. Hearing HIM in the morning. When we put our trust in Him and “Go and Listen” in the morning because we trust in Him, He will lift our souls.

Do we have low times? yes. Do we have days where we don’t go to Him first? Absolutely. And that seems to be the majority of the time. Sometimes we do better for a season, but then we go back to our old ways. Its easy. But honestly, it is simple to wake up to Jesus and His steadfast love. To read His word. And it will change the trajectory of your life. Day by day. Little by little. His word will transform your spirit and draw you to lean on Him, more and more.

So this little reminder is to start your day off with hearing of His steadfast love. And the best place for that is in Scripture.

My challenge to you is to read John 13. That is the Scripture I have connected in my notes. Because John 13 is all about Jesus’ love for all of us. All sinners. If you haven’t thought about it before, Jesus loves you. He loves you even BEFORE you turned to Him. His spirit called you to Him, and He loved you WHILE you were still a sinner. (and we all still are).. But think about Judas. Jesus KNEW he would be betrayed by Judas, and he still washed his feet. He still showed love to him because he deeply loved him.

We can apply this to our lives in the way of loving the people that are hard to love. Still serve and do the things in your life that help others, even when they are difficult people.

To bring it back to Psalm 143:8, spending time in Scripture in the morning and hearing from God early in your day, helps you know the way you should go. Helps you know throughout the day when or if it is the right time or place to do certain things. You have to be in Scripture to Hear from God.

Let God lift up your soul today. Get in Scripture and Hear from God. Listen to Him as he guides you in the way you should go.

Bible Tools I Use For Bible Journaling.

Today, I wanted to start the blog with Bible Journaling. When I am preparing for Sunday School, or taking notes in a sermon or Bible study class, I like to mark things and write things, so that they stick in my head more than just reading or listening.

Therefore, my Bible has begun really looking like a mess to others (I’m sure). But it is my happy place.

Let me preface this by saying, if your Bible doesn’t look like this there is nothing wrong with that either. Everyone grows in their relationship with God at different paces and in different ways. With me being a person who writes and draws everything; this is how it has evolved.

ALSO… You need your Bible… and your heart. That is all.. God doesn’t need you to draw, underline, highlight or take notes. He hears your prayers without anything added. And he sees you and your heart of worship without any extras. Just dig deep in His word and that it the most important thing.

BUT if you do like to Bible Journal, and take notes, and make things pretty. This could be for you. I am blessed to have a couple Bibles in this “state” already. It helps me learn and study. So, lets go!

My prayer tassel was made for me by a friend. If you have a local crafty person, or if you know some crafty ladies, you could get together and make these! They are fun to make as a craft, and just an accent to my Bible during prayer. It is definitely not necessity. But I love mine.

Todays lesson is in Matthew 6:5-13 The Lord’s Prayer. We will go into a lot of references with my kids on different prayers throughout the Bible. Prayer is personal and private, but also communal and churchwide. Among friends and Bible study groups and families. We can go more into that later.

I really just wanted to focus on the Bible Study tools today.

I think in addition to ONE your Bible, you need colored highlighters. These have served me well, and lasted a very long time. They are not sticky and there was only one that was too bright for my liking in this set. Mr. Pen is a pretty good brand for most of their stuff. You can see the specific colors here, and how they last. If you underline with an ink pen before you highlight, it works best.

They do not bleed through to the other side either.

This here is my Bible case. (Which I love!)

You can get any case that holds your Bible, but if you like to have pens, a few papers, a notebook to write in and your highlighters, this one is perfect for that. (Always check measurements though) This one fits a composition notebook perfectly. I can fit a large glue stick and some sticky note pads in the pocket, and the front has a zipper pocket perfect for the bulletin or prayer list from church each week.

Push Through the Sidewalk!

Todays Adventure has been quiet. Walking in the woods, taking pictures of beautiful things, talking to my loved ones, helping with daily tasks.

Researching, planning, getting things prepared for the next chapter. I am a creative, and that part of me never stops designing and creating! It won’t matter what goes on in life, I will be redirecting to being productive and making things happen… eventually.

This is a new beginning and life is beautiful. God is sovereign. No matter what we think may have gone wrong, God was growing us and guiding us in the way He wanted us to grow. Just like the tree stuck in the middle of the sidewalk in the middle of a big city. It WILL still grow! Right through the sidewalk! It will push its way up and to the sun! It will be stronger than some of the other trees that had an easy beginning.

You will too. Resilience is what grows from our struggles. Things in this life were never promised to be easy, they are just what they are. We become tough, strong, and resilient by going through them. Especially when that storm was not part of our plan or map we had mapped out!

But keep going! Do a re-set! Challenge yourself to be strong and to push yourself even more. After a re-set of course.

Life does reach a new normal after storms. We get our feet back under us. We are able to hold ourselves up with help from our tribe of course. And if you don’t have a tribe yet, you will. You can grow that as well. Slowly, but surely.
